Culture

Commitment.....

We give ourselves and everything we commit to 100% until we succeed. We are committed to the Vision, Mission, Culture and success of the Academy of Combat, its present and future team, and its clients at all times.

Ownership.....

We at the Academy are truly responsible for our actions and outcomes and take ownership for everything that takes place in our work and our lives.

Integrity.....

What we promise is what we deliver. We only ever make agreements with ourselves and others that we are willing and intend to keep. We communicate potential broken agreements at the first oportunity and clear up all broken agreements immediately.

Excellence.....

Good enough isn't. We always provide products and services of exceptional quality that add value to all involved for the long term. We look for ways to do more with less and adhere to a strategy of constant and never ending improvement and innovation.

Communication.....

We speak positively of our fellow team members, our clients and the Academy of Combat in both public and private. We speak with good purpose using empowering and positive communication. We never use sarcasm or gossip. We acknowledge what is being said as true for the speaker at that moment and we take responsibility for the responses to our communication. We greet and farewell people using their name where possible. We always apologize for any upsets first and then look for a solution. We only discuss concerns in private with the person or people involved.

Success.....

We totally focus our thoughts, energy and attention on the successful outcome of whatever we are doing. We are willing to win and allow others to win: Win/Win. If this is not possible we are willing to agree to no deal. At all times, we display our inner pride, prosperity, competence and confidence. We are successful people and enjoy contributing to the success of all those that we come into contact with.

Education.....

We learn from our mistakes. We consistently learn, grow and master so that we can help our fellow team members learn, grow and master too.

Team Work....

We at the Academy work as a team. We do whatever it takes to stay together and achieve team goals. We focus on co-operation and always come to a resolution, not a compromise. We are flexible in the way we work and are able to change if what we're doing is not working. We ask for help when we need it and are compassionate to others who ask us.

Balance.....

We have a balanced approach to life, remembering that our spiritual, social, financial, intellectual and family aspects are just as important as our physical and recreational. We complete our work and most important tasks first, so that we can have quality time to ourselves, with our families and also to renew.

Fun.....

We view our lives as a journey to be enjoyed and appreciated and we create an atmosphere of fun and happiness so all around us can enjoy it as well.

Systems.....

We always look to the systems for a solution. If a challenge arises we use a system correction before we look for a people correction. We use a system solution in our innovation rather than a people solution. We follow the system exactly until a new system is introduced. We are looking for, suggesting and presenting systems at our first opportunity.

Consistency.....

We are consistent in our actions so that our clients and fellow team members can feel comfortable in dealing with us at all times. We are disciplined in our work so that our results, growth and success are consistent.

Gratitude.....

We are truly grateful people. We say thank-you and show appreciation often and in many ways, so that all around us will know how much we appreciate everything and everyone we have in our lives. We celebrate our wins and the wins of our clients, and team. We consistently catch ourselves and other people doing things right....

Abundance.....

We are all abundant people, we deserve our abundance and we are easily able to give and recieve it. We allow abundance in all areas of our lives by respecting our own self worth and that of all others. We are rewarded to the level that we create abundance for others and we accept that abundance only shows up in our lives to the level at which we show up.

Loyalty

How many true friends do you have? What is your definition of a true friend? What value does that relationship have for you? When it comes to the crunch, would you stand by your friend even if it meant you had to suffer for it?As we go through life, we have many relationships with many different people. Some are casual meetings, whilst others survive the test of time and become lifelong friendships. These types of relationships are built on a foundation of loyalty, integrity, honour and respect - and hold together even when it is not convenient and for our own benefit.

Loyalty, for example, can mean many things: devotion, faithfulness, allegiance, & fidelity for instance. Loyalty lies at the very foundation of any worthwhile relationship. It will provide a bedrock when times are hard.

The martial arts professional considers loyalty a crucial ingredient to the successful student/teacher relationship. Loyalty can grow from an obligation to repay a great service or personal sacrifice that someone makes for your benefit and personal growth.

Who can deny the great burden of debt owed to our parents? All of our parents could have lived more comfortably had they not provided for us. They fed and clothed us and saw that we were educated. But most importantly, they instilled in us whatever ambition and ethical foundations we carry as adults. Those are priceless gifts.

Ask yourself if your instructor is deserving of your loyalty? Understand that your Instructor is not just selling a service. He’s giving you part of his life. Instructors of this calibre devote decades to the mastery of their craft. They spend countless hours training, making both emotional and physical sacrifices that go way beyond what most people can imagine. They pay for their expertise with blood, sweat, and even broken bones. In fact, the top-notch martial artist is probably one of the most highly trained professionals in our society. So, do you think your weekly fees are fair exchange for the knowledge and experience your instructor is passing on to you? From our point of view, it is not! The money you provide doesn’t pay for your training: it only supports your instructor and the school, making it possible for him to offer his art.

The only way you, as a student, can fully repay your Martial Arts Instructor is through your....
